In the Pool

Yep, that’s right, it wasn’t an illusion. That person that people saw in the swimming pool on Thursday morning was indeed me! It was my first time swimming since the day after Boxing Day last year – all thanks to a shoulder injury that turned out to be osteo-arthritis. What’s more, I managed to complete the session without intervention from the lifeguards and even swam in the fast lane!

Mind you, the session that Pete had prescribed for us did really only require me to swim one length at a time!

My shoulder seemed OK though. It was a little sore but nothing worse than usual. I guess I’ll have to start adding some swim sessions to my weekly routine now. Although, as I’ve pointed out before swim training doesn’t actually seem to make much difference to me. I don’t get any faster no matter how much of it I do, and if I do none at all I don’t get any slower either. Maybe I’ll just look at is an an energetic way of having a bath!
