Honey Harvest 2016

Not the greatest of honey harvests this year, but at least we got some. About 12lbs in total which is what we usually get from a single hive here in Ynyslas.

The good news this year is that we’ve managed to raise at least one new queen. best of all she has come from a split on a hive that has historically done well, so hopefully has good genes. As usual, the challenge now is to feed them well, let them continue to build up stores throughout September and maybe October and then get them through the winter without too many losses.

All of this years honey once again came from our little home apiary. Once again, there was no harvest from our out apiary. Hopefully next year this will change.
