The Early Signs of Spring

We’re only a couple of days into March, and therefore a couple of days into Spring, but nature is preparing.

I managed to spend a few hours out in the garden at the weekend. There’s loads of work to do out there tidying up, weeding and cutting things back but I feel as though I’ve made a start now. Who knows, I might even get around to sorting out the front ‘garden’ one day this year as well.

It was nice to see some signs of Spring though. The moles are waking up and making a mess of the lawn.

I’m going to find their holes and put some moth balls into them again as that seemed to work once before.

The Hellebores have been flowering for a while.

The narcissus are flowering in more sheltered spots and the larger daffodils are on their way just in time for Mother’s Day as well.

The crocuses have been open as well, but the cold winds we have at the moment have made them a little reluctant today.

Soon it’ll be full on in the garden again, so I’d better ‘spring’ into action in order to get on top of things whenever I get the chance.

I managed to sit in my rocker with the door open, “planning” the garden….does that count as gardening?
