Fun in the Sun

Another fun day in the sun for us yesterday here in glorious Mid Wales. A usual early start for me to get some work done and then off to work for Anna as well. Meanwhile Morgan and I headed into Borth with the Stand-up Paddleboard and our snorkelling kit.

Conditions were perfect, the air temperature was warming up as the sun rose above the hills, there was very little wind, the sea was mirror smooth and the tide was high. We paddled out around the rocks at the point and on to Aberwennol. There were fisherman at the base of the cliffs as we glided past and into the clear waters just beyond Aberwennol. We stopped here and went for a snorkel, before making our way back with the odd stop at certain locations for a bit more snorkelling. There were plenty of jellyfish around, the odd crab and some nice shoals of fish too.

We then played around on the large buoy just offshore of the two reefs before paddling back over the tops of the submerged reefs. I then jumped in and swam back with Morgan SUPing next to me.

Anna was home at lunch time as she was only working a half day so we spent the afternoon preparing various ‘spicery’ dishes for a BBQ later in the day. Morgan and I then headed back over to the beac, this time at Ynyslas and without our wetsuits. We had another hour or so in the water SUPing, swimming and body surfing before heading home for a nice evening catching up with Dave and Sarah over a yummy Barbecue meal courtesy of thespicery.com.

It’s like being on holiday at home!!
