Swimming with Dolphins

Another early morning swim in Aberystwyth. This time with Helen, Emma, Richard, Larry, Martin and Victoria and a small pod of dolphins.

Dolphins!

We could see the dolphins in the bay before we got in, playing in the early morning sunshine and chasing fish. We got in and swam out towards them and then after swimming for a while they came pretty close, probably to within about 10 feet of us.  We then swam over to North Beach and on the way back, not far from Castle Point the dolphins came even closer. A mother and baby right up next to me and then they swam under everyone as well. Pretty special really and made even more so by the fact that most other people were probably still in bed. They don’t know what they are missing out on.

Mind you, I did pay for the treat with a nice big jellyfish sting right across my face which has now made my nose swell up a bit, but it was a price worth paying. We didn’t have camera with us, so here’s a little clip of the dolphins in Aberystwyth from someone else.

Who’s have thought that you could have such magical experiences swimming with dolphins in Aberystwyth on a work day. Just the perfect way to start the day.
