Of course, because of the Bank Holiday Easter weekend, this news was a bit of a tease for me. Yes, the watch was on its way to me and not only had Garmin managed to get hold of some Sapphire glass, but they had made the watch, Cotswold Outdoor had it and had already sent it and according to the delivery tracking details it had made it's way into Wales and was already sitting in a depot in Llandrindodd Wells.

The trouble with that was that it was going to stay sat there until Tuesday because of the Bank Holiday Weekend. So close, yet so far...... Except for the fact that I was off to my parents house in Gloucestershire for a couple of days so would be passing Llandrindodd Wells on Saturday morning. A plan was hatched, I phoned the delivery company to see if I could collect it from the depot, double checked that they were open on Satruday morning and was told that all would be fine. So, on the way to my parents house on Saturday morning we made a little detour and went to the depot. Unfortunately when we got there it was all padlocked up and no one was at home. I phoned the delivery company from outside the gates and all I got was an apology and an explanation saying that they weren't aware that the depot was closing over the weekend. There was nothing I could do. I'd come close to getting my new watch, but would have to wait.
