Cathedral Window Patchwork Curtain

Thanks to Anna’s Mum, we now have a curtain in our dining room. Exciting stuff I know, but we have lived here for 10 years now and it’s the first time we’ve been able to close out the world through this particular window.

Anna’s Mum had made us a similar curtain for one of the windows in the dining which has never been quite wide enough and then was going to make another for the other window. However, she then started working on a PhD so didn’t have time. We knew she’d get around to it one day though so never bought anything to go there in the meantime and you know how it is with such things, you just get used to them even if they are a bit odd.

Now that she’s graduated she’s had a little more time on her hands and has been able to make another for us and very nice it is too. ‘Haberdashery’ isn’t really my thing, but these do look good and I know that people who are into that get quite excited by them. I don’t know much about the intricacies of making it, and I’m sure it’s fairly technical, but I do know that it looks good with the the decor in our dining room.

I guess it’s time for me to do some of the work on the house I’ve been meaning to do for the last 10 years as well, such as sanding and varnishing the woodwork. I’m sure it stands out like a sore thumb to everyone else, but we have just got used to it now and don’t notice it. Come on Al, pull your finger out!
