Chocolate Pasta Pudding

Weird I know, but whilst in London last week we bought some Chocolate Pasta from Hotel Chocolate. It’s just pasta made with cocoa in it and the woman in the shop was a little surprised when we said we were going to make a dessert with it. She had only heard of savoury recipes being made with it, some of which do sound quite nice. I’d imagine a nice a nice savoury pasta sauce with some chili in it would go well with the chocolate flavour of the pasta.

However, tonight we tried a much sweeter stickier delight that was really easy to make.

I simply boiled the pasta as you normally would, until it was almost coked. Meanwhile in a a frying pan I toasted some walnuts, removed them from the pan and then made a caramel sauce by boiling equal quantities (50g) of  butter and dark brown sugar together until they formed a hot boiling syrup and then stirred 100ml of double cream through this before adding the toasted walnuts. It was then simply a matter of stirring the pasta into the sauce and serving it piping hot and drizzled with cream.

Unfortunately the photos don’t do it justice as it was rather nice! Even Morgan gobbled up a whole bowlful. I’ll just have to make some more so that I can get some better photos!
