And so the Mowing Begins

The nice weather looks as though it will take a turn on Wednesay so I’ve been busy making the most of it and trying to get on top of things in the garden. I’m just about there as well as far as the back garden goes. All the dead growth has been tidied up and the plants are looking as though they are ready to go. The bulbs are all coming along nicely and many of the herbaceous plants and shrubs are showing signs of life too.

I’ve edged most of the borders, forked them over where necessary and I’ve dug out the compost bins and used the contents to mulch some of the borders. I’ve top dressed the containers, pruned most of what needs pruning and weeded what needed weeding. I’ve even managed to mow the lawn on Tuesday. I’m not sure if thats a good thing as it means I shall be out there all the time mowing from now until about November, but it does make a big difference and things are looking respectable out there again.

Lets hope we have a nice long, hot, sunny summer so that we can get to enjoy the garden a little more than we did last year.

I am jealous, I did a couple of hours on Sunday and I’m still suffering! Still hoping for a good summer though, even if I have an untidy garden
