Rise of the Alliums

Alliums

Alliums

It’s been a long wait, but the Alliums that I planted out (as part of a birthday present) back in October of last year are finally making an appearance.

Every time I look at the little border along the conservatory there are more appearing. The edges of the border need tidying up and I could do with removing some of the stones in it, but I’ve just checked the blog post I wrote when planting them to remind my self of  what to expect and there should be 100 ‘Purple Sensation’ alliums and 250 ‘Moly’ alliums.

When I planted them I said

It’s always a little odd planting bulbs as there’s nothing to show for your money or your work except a bare piece of soil, but it  should pay dividends in 6 months or so.

If they are on time that means they should begin putting on a show in about a month. Judging by the number popping up at the moment they are right on target.

That’s if the cat doesn’t squash them! They are coming up in her favourite place to sit.
