Garden Visits

Busy Busy Busy – We’ve been so busy lately that I’ve just realised I haven’t blogged about many of the things we did last weekend, let alone what we did yesterday.

As well as the bee-keeping, moth trapping and planet watching that I did blog about, we also spent Sunday outdoors. First we went to Ann’s where I gave a presentation to the new beginner beekeepers there telling them all about our first year in beekeeping. We called it ‘Beekeeping in the Dark’ because when we first started we were completely in the dark about bees and because once we got going we somehow seemed to do most of our beekeeping under cover of darkness. In order to give the talk I basically went back through the beekeeping category in this weblog to remind me of what we had been up to throughout our fledging bee-keeping career.

The presentation seemed to go down well, so after tea and cakes we inspected a few of Ann’s hives and admired her garden. We then headed off to admire another garden in Glandyfi. Llwyncelyn garden opens its gates to the public once a year as part of the NGS ‘Gardens Open for Charity Scheme’. We wandered around it last year with my parents and Morgan couldn’t wait to go again for some reason. We were lucky with the weather again and had a pleasant stroll around the garden and bluebell woods in the sunshine. We even bought a couple of little plants for our garden.
