A Quick Moth Count

That didn’t take too long – I was half expecting this mornings moth count to be a long and difficult one but there were far fewer moths in the trap than I was expecting. Just 44 moths from 13 different species, with nothing new for us and nothing too difficult to ID either. Here’s the list.

  • 1 x Common Carpet
  • 3 x Common Rustic / Lesser Common Rustic agg.
  • 7 x Scarce Footman
  • 14 x Smoky Wainscot
  • 1 x Rosy Minor

  • 7 x Dark Arches
  • 1 x Antler Moth
  • 1 x Yellow-tail
  • 2 x Bright-line Brown-eye
