A Meal from the Garden

I do like eating home grown produce and the garden is doing well at the moment. Last night I managed a meal with loads of fruit and veg that we had grown with our own fair hands.

It was a bit of a mix and match meal as I grabbed it after a circuit training and swimming session, but with a salad that comprised of boiled potatoes, lettuce, spring onions, green peppers and cucumber that we’d grown I didn’t do too badly. We didn’t manage to produce the cheese ourselves though.

Pudding was also from the garden with a blueberries, strawberries, red currants, black currants and raspberries, I did also add a banana that we didn’t grow ourselves and topped it all with homemade yoghurt and a little bit of honey – I have to admit that the honey wasn’t our own as we’ve used all of that up, but hopefully we’ll have some more to harvest later in the year – assuming the bees get their act together!

The fridge is also full of home-grown courgettes and spinach so we’ll have to eat that tonight.

Here’s just a selection from the garden that we need to eat up soon.
