Barge Unloading at Borth

This morning I popped down to see the small barge bringing in rocks from the much larger barge anchored offshore from Borth. I had expected the large barge to come closer to shore, but it was still out on the horizon and the much smaller ‘Charlie Rock’ barge was being manouvered into position by a tug.

If was off on a cycle so didn’t hang around for long, but the sea was calm, the winds were light and I can therefore only assume that the unloading of the rock cargo onto the beach at Borth is going as planned. There certainly seems to be lots going on with the Borth Coastal Defence Scheme at the moment. I don’t know what happened to the sunshine though.

I saw these from Aber today. They were certainly a long way out. That big one is enormous!!!

You should have seen Borth today. I’ve never seen so many people here, they’d all come to see the new ‘civil engineering works’ tourist attraction.
