A New Garden Record

The moth trapping has been fairly slow so far this year. there have been a few moths each time we put the trap out but no huge numbers and nothing too exciting. Last night was the same with only 14 moths in the trap from 11 different species. The Treble Bar was a new garden record though which is always nice and it was nice to see the cinnabar and Buff Tip too. The Scalloped Hazel that we had was a little different to the ones I’ve seen before as well – That is assuming I’ve ID’d it correctly.

  • 3 x Shoulder stripe
  • 1 x Hebrew Character
  • 1 x Engrailed
  • 1 x Treble Bar
  • 1 x Red Twin-spot Carpet
  • 1 x Cinnabar
  • 1 x Buff Tip
  • 1 x Shuttle-shaped Dart
  • 1 x Scalloped Hazel
  • 2 x Double-striped Pug
