Getting a Bargain on a Garmin Forerunner 305
My trusty Garmin Forerunner 305 decided to give up the ghost last week so I’ve now ordered a new one – I couldn’t quite decide which model to go for but in the end stuck with the Forerunner 305 and managed to get quite a bargain on it.
Recommended retail price is £199.99, but last week Amazon had it at £117.98, quite a lot cheaper than the 310XT that I was also looking at which was £242. We then went to order it this morning and it was only £107.98 and on top of that Anna managed to get an extra 10% off with a special code so it was actually only £97.18 – Bargain.
But it doesn’t stop there. We paid using vouchers that we get through a scheme thanks to using child care vouchers. This allows us to buy £100 worth of Amazon vouchers for £96 effectively saying us 4% on anything we buy, and Anna buys them on her Credit Card that pays her 1% cashback. Not only that, but I have an Amazon Affiliate account so if we buy it through that I get another 5% Commission, meaning that the actual cost to us was only £87.46
Not bad at all!
Fantastic, It’s good see someone taking advantge of these deals. I remember buying a Lonley Planet guide for Canada the other year, it was £25 in Waterstones, I then went on Amazon and got it delivered to my door for £13.
It arrived today – Usual fast service from Amazon. I’ve charged it, set it up the way I like it and will try it out on tonights night ride.
I’ve been ‘lost’ without it! 🙂
