Excitement Mounts at Epic Wind Forecast

Things are looking pretty good wind-wise for the end of the week with some strong Easterly winds forecast.

Friday looks OK, Saturday looks pretty windy, 30 knots or so which could be much more in the estuary here at Ynyslas and Sunday looks completely mad at the moment. It could finally be time to get the speed kit out and make an attempt on 40 knots in my ‘Life Begins at 40 (knots)‘ quest.

Tides are pretty big though with high tides around 9.30-10 am so getting the estuary just right for the speed channels won’t be easy. Mind you, if it does end up being 40 knots and dead easterly then the seafront should be pretty good too as long as the waves aren’t too big. What I’m after is strong winds and dead flat water.

Of course, it is still early days and no doubt the forecast will have changed by the weekend so I’d better not get too excited just yet. There should be some wind about earlier in the week as well though. Autumn is here!!

It’s Friday, the wind is here, the sun is shining, there’s plenty of water in the estuary and I even think I’ll get away with my summer wetsuit.

If you need me I’m on the water windsurfing. Don’t think I’ll hit 40 knots today though.
