That’s one of the reasons I could do with a new bike… My smallest (easiest) gear ratio at the moment is a 42×21 which isn’t really suitable for grinding up the long hills around here. Almost all bikes you buy these days come with much easier gearing.

Also, my current road bike is running on tubular tyres so if I get a puncture I’m stuffed. Lots of reasons to get a new one.
