Kranjska Gora 2009
We’ve recently returned from our holiday in Slovenia. We went to Kranjska Gora again and had a good time. The resort was a little busier than last time but we soon settled in and as before the hotel was lovely. Good rooms, good food and friendly staff… Although it was a little too warm!!
Dave and Sarah came with us so we had breakfast and dinner with them each day and then spent most of the day on the slopes. Anna progressed quite a bit with her snowboarding, but I seemed to regress!. I’m blaming it on the hire kit I had, but it could just be that I’m a year older!
I didn’t manage to do any geocaching this year as there was just too much snow, but I did walk to the location of one cache early one morning in the dark.
Morgan had a great time in the kids club and also had a very quick go at skiing and went ice-skating. He also enjoyed himself in the pool and sledging.
Then only complaint we do have is the lack of intermediate classes for snowboarding. Even if you book at the resort you seem to get put in with complete beginners which just isn’t suitable. The only way to get more advanced lessons is to book one to one lessons with an instructor.
Overall it is still a great place to go. There was plenty of snow this year, albeit a bit icy and a new snowboard park opened on our last day (luckily after we took our kit back so I couldn’t be tempted to hurt myself on it!).
