Holiday’s over and done with for another year!

feeding-the-ducks.jpgWell, we’ve been on holiday and now it’s back to work the same as before. We had a lovely time on the Isle of Man. My mum arranged a family BBQ on my birthday so we got to see all the family in one go rather than spending the whole holiday going from house to house.

I think we all got to do a bit of what we wanted. Alan managed to fit in several windsurf sessions (I even let him go out on my birthday!) (see http://www.forces-of-nature.co.uk/dbdriven/diary/diary.php for more info), Morgan got to spend lots of ‘quality time’ with both of us and his Granny and I had a bit of time to relax and Alan and I even managed to go out a coupel of evenings so all in all a good time was had!

We introduced Morgan to the joys of feeding the ducks. Ask most Manx people and they’ll tell you the place to go is the arboretum in St Johns. In fact many associate arboretums with ducks rather than trees much to Al’s amusment!

Alan tried out his latest activity of geocaching (http://www.geocaching.com). It was a good excuse to get out and about although doing it with a pushchair and baby to tow was a slight hinderance. I don’t think we are very good at it but our results were much improved once Al read the instructions on his GPS and put the co-ordinates in right!

Morgan came on leaps and bounds with his talking. He only had a few noises before we went but has come home telling us all about planes and trains and cats and pigs to name a few.

As I said, it’s back to work now but it was nice to have a break. I’m already planning the next holiday and we’ve managed to convice my mum to come along as an extra pair of hands to help with Morgan and let me and Al have a bit of time together.
