Family Days Out

Llyn BrianneYet another action packed Welsh Weekend. Saturday was as good as it gets as far as windsurfing is concerned and Steve and I had an excellent day on the water. Full windsurf diary entry here.

Saturday evening was spent having dinner and quite a bit of wine with Dave and Sarah. We then made an early start on Sunday for a family day out geocaching. First we headed to Llandewi Breffi where we found ‘the only cache in the village’!! It was a little damp but still a nice little walk. We didn’t have a map of the area (I thought Anna had a road atlas in the car so didn’t bring one) so we then just headed off into the hills on tiny little roads, trying to guess our way towards the next geocaches. Needless to say that tactic didn’t work and after miles of driving along tiny little roads, they just ran our and turned into rough tracks!

So, off we headed to Tregaron for lunch in a nice cosy pub before following a signpost to our intended destination of Llyn Brianne. This time we stopped off at Soar y Mynydd to find a cache and then headed off to the shores of the reservoir for the final cache of the day.

Unfortunately Morgan was sick on the way into the hills so after an unplanned stop to sort him out, he had very few clothed to wear and wouldn’t keep a blanket on him so we didn’t go for much of a walk as it was quite chilly, but even from the car the scenery was lovely with the autumn colours at their best. All in all we all had an enjoyable day in the welsh countryside.
