Autumn Back to Normal

Well, it has been a few years since we’ve had some proper autumnal storms, but things seem to be back to normal this year. The last two weeks or so have seen depression after depression tracking across the UK, the charts have been full of isobars and we’ve been experiencing typically autumnal stormy weather.

The Tornado that hit may have been a little out of the ordinary, but the strong winds and heavy rain are typical for this time of year. OK, we are now officially into winter, so maybe it is a little later than expected, but this year the autumn storms are true to form.

The Borth and Ynyslas weather station in our back garden has been registering 40 knots or more most days for the last week or so with a maximum gust of 48.8 knots, beating all records so far. According to the forecasts there is unlikely to be any let up from this onslaught for the next few days either.
