Persistance pays whilst geocaching

After a long search and several unsuccessful missions, air28uk has finally found our Assume Nothing #2 geocache.

These Assume Nothing caches are supposed to be a little difficult and tricky and judging by his log, the persistence paid off and made the eventual find all the more satisfying.

This is the log entry:

and on the fourth day of searching (thanks for the helpful clues westies) i found it , i actually touched the hiding place every time i visited !!!! arrrgggghhhh

    This goecache has proved to be one of the most popular of my hides. We had another succesful find from someone this weekend who wrote:

    On a golfing/caching weekend with JamesnKaz, searched for ages and getting to the point of giving up when we found a clue to say where it was, don’t want to spoil for others but this does need some very lateral thinking to understand the clues given in the text. Excellent hide. TFTC, TNLN, SL.

    The log for the cache has many more like this.
    i.e.

    We scored a big fat DNF on this cache almost a year ago. Summer holidays meant we were once again staying at Ynyslas and were determined to have another go at this little blighter! Last year we were caching novices, we’ve since clocked up 400+ finds and thought we had more of an idea of where to look for this one.

    Our initial idea was wrong… but our second idea was spot on! Yesssss! Very, very sneaky, ten out of ten for cunning!

    Another find recently on Assume Nothing #1, Bark :

    I love your tricksy cache’s.

    We have done the ivy one so knew that traditional caching methods would not find this cache!

    Nice valley, nice walk.

    Took some finding but again once you assume nothing you find it! (it is true you need not destroy anything)

    Love the camoflage!

    And another on Assume Nothing #1, Bark. After a slow start people are beginning to find this one now.

    A quick find on a nice stroll on a sunny autumn afternoon. There are some wonderful views from the cache site. The hardest thing about finding the cache was the quantity of other people in this quiet country lane! This included a couple with a dog, four ladies with another dog and 4 pensioners in a VW Passat who nearly ran me over. You could do this as a cache & dash and park within 2 metres of the cache but personally I’d use a Landrover…
