I've since sold my big lens and would prefer to get out on the bike and if I see something, all the better. Awesome!! We were on Ogwen and one skimmed around the mountain on the opposite side of the valley. If we had been on that side I would have seen the colour of fear! ;) You get some pretty good shots of them from my Penyrallt cache in Mach as well. I know exactly how Anna felt, I did the Minfford path and it nearly killed me. Once it levelled out I was quite happy. It was November though and very frosty at the lake so we decided not to do the summit. I still want to go back though! The Pony Path is much easier, on the north side. I only had my little compact out at the time.. Should have got my SLR and big 400mm lens out really I suppose!.. But then I'm no 'plane-spotter' so it didn't really occur to me! :) Although, with the amount of low level flying around here, maybe it should be a new 'sport' for me!! Tal y Llyn is on the corner of the Mach Loop. One of the busiest stretches of low level flying one-way system in the UK. It goes from Mach, up to Cross Foxes, and back down to Mach via Tal-y-llyn.
